Clinton Praises Immigrants At Oscar De La Renta Dedication

The fashion world got political Thursday, when former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton used a stamp dedication ceremony honoring Oscar de la Renta to highlight the contributions of immigrants to America.

At a U.S. Postal Service ceremony meant to reveal a line of 11 stamps to the Dominican fashion designer, Clinton noted de la Renta’s immigrant roots.

“Oscar de la Renta was an immigrant … And aren’t we proud and grateful that he was?” she said during her speech, held at Grand Central Station’s Vanderbilt Hall in New York. She noted that the stamps also say “USA Forever.”
